Roll up! Roll up! – The Kingston Sprints are upon us again and it’s an opportunity for everyone within the Club to get involved.

Date :  Sunday the 5th of  November 2017.

Venue: Larkhall Leisure Centre, Broomhill Road, Larkhall ML9 1QP.

The races are open to swimmers in Boom Pool 2 and above, so everyone apart from the Teaching Pool or Boom Pool 1.

Swimmers need to have a recorded time for an event to be considered for entry, but this does not guarantee being accepted to swim. As this is a graded meet aimed at swimmer development there is a fastest time set for each event and swimmers with recorded times faster than this are not eligible to enter. The Meet is held as two sessions, morning and afternoon, with younger swimmers in the morning session.

Swimmers from other clubs are also invited to partcipate in the Kingston Sprints Meet and we look forward to welcoming  swimmers from various local clubs.

Invites to swimmers will be circulated after the Time Trials on October 8.

Closing date for entries is October 22nd.

We will also need parents as helpers please, please volunteer by speaking to Lizette at the desk!

The front desk will be accepting tombola prizes from this week for the sprints and any donations would be gratefully received

Congratulations to all our swimmers competing in the North Ayrshire Development meet at the Portal in Irvine last weekend, lots of excellent swims, great PBs, medals and ribbons! Well done everyone. And thanks to the Kingston coaches, Team Managers and officials for helping on the day.

I hope everyone had a great summer and is settling back into a routine, looking forward to a great swim season ahead.

It is good to have Hannah back after her 3 months in America.  It is also with sadness that I need to inform you that Gary Parsons is leaving the club to embark on a new chapter in his career.  Gary has been responsible for setting up our development program for Teaching and Boom Pool swimmers and will be a great loss to the club.  I’m sure everyone extends their thanks to Gary and wishes him well.

The committee has started the interviewing process to find a new Assistant Coach and hopefully will be in a position to advise on this in the next week or so.

And a message from Paul regarding the North Ayrshire Developmet Meet
“We had a great comp at the weekend.  I would like to thank to all those who helped get it sorted from those on the committee to the parents who helped on the day. I think almost everyone who swam won something.  I even had a few big clubs asking about our young swimmers!  Always a great feeling.”
